flowers are love's truest LANGUAGE~ Park Benjamin
Hi! I'm Debbie. Welcome to Dandelion House Floral Design!
As long as I can remember I've loved flowers and no matter what, I've always had flower gardens. In 2012 I became impassioned with the idea of having a little flower farm but a move wasn't in the stars, so instead, I turned a large portion of my backyard into a micro cut flower garden. That first season was magical. I couldn't believe how easy it was to grow sun loving annuals for cutting. I harvested buckets of dahlias, zinnias, cosmos, sunflowers, and a variety of filler flowers that year. I shared my flowers with family, friends and neighbors arranged in simple mason jars. Before long I was asked to do an intimate wedding with my garden grown blooms and I fell in love with the entire process of creating for weddings. Fast forward seven years and I am more in love with growing flowers and floral design than ever before. My passion for gardening and growing beautiful cut flowers is my inspiration for creating designs with a wildly romantic, natural feel. Flowers from the garden or field are exposed to the elements and have their own personalities. Stems bend, curve and reach for the sun making them more pliable and romantic. The closer our flowers are to home, the less impact they have on our environment.
I am a member of the Slow Flowers Society. A global community that is committed to connecting florists and flower farmers in an effort to strengthen the cut flower industry in the United States and beyond. I'm doing my part here in New England. I founded the New England Farmer Florist Connection Facebook Group in 2016 to help connect florists with local flower farms in our region. Our group meets annually at different studios and farms to network, learn and be inspired.

What goes into your floral designs?
Before we ever touch a flower we begin by creating a floral vision for your wedding. From the largest items in your ceremony decor, right down to the tiniest floral details. Great care is taken with your flowers from the time we pick them up to when they're delivered to your event. Many hours are spent cleaning and trimming each stem and making sure storage temperatures are just right.
We design with seasonality in mind. We work hard to source locally from our own gardens and nearby flower farms when our regionally grown blooms are at their peak. As our growing season winds down reach out from to American Grown Flower Farms who have longer growing seasons than we do here in New England. And for those special flowers that just can't be sourced locally, we stretch beyond our borders for unique flora and fauna.
We've never met a flower, twig, branch, berry, or weed we didn't love so don't be surprised if you see one of us pulled over by the side of the road with snips and a bucket in hand.
All of our full service weddings include delivery and set up the day of your event. We work closely with venue coordinators and your vendor team to ensure your wedding day is as beautiful as you dreamt it would be.
For smaller celebrations we offer a pick up option on the day of the event.
Who creates your designs?
I believe in supporting other women in business so I invite talented floral designers who own and operate their own successful design businesses to work with me on specific weddings throughout the year. Together, we blend our collective knowledge of flowers, design experience and techniques bringing your floral inspirations to life on your wedding day or special event.
