Of all the floral pieces we create for weddings, bridal bouquets are the most treasured of all. Sure, we love creating beautiful ceremony backdrops and bespoke tablescapes you and your guests will ooh and ah over for years to come but, the bridal bouquet is very personal. As wedding florists, we have an important role of making sure every bridal bouquet is exactly what our bride has dreamt of walking down the aisle with. As you'll see in our selections below, each bouquet is unique, just like the women who hold them.
Some are adorned with dangling photo charms of loved ones who are no longer earth-side. A small piece of fabric from a vintage wedding dress worn by a beloved family member is a common request for a bouquet wrap. It's up to you! Whatever you choose will only enhance your bouquet and its meaning.
Bridal bouquets are small bundles of beauty, love, hopes and dreams for the future. All of that emotion wrapped into one has been known to bring on the waterworks for brides and designers alike!
We're so grateful to be a part of these very special moments in our clients' lives.
If this pandemic taught us anything it was to remain patient, flexible and hopeful for ourselves and our clients. We rode the rollercoaster of emotions right along with them. We felt the anticipation and the anxiety as we waited for each phase of reopening our state. For a while it seemed like wedding dreams were crashing all around us. Truth be told, they were. While many of our clients chose to postpone their weddings until 2021 ( largely due to wanting to celebrate big with their families and friends) some of our clients downsized their guest lists and moved their nuptials to backyards and private estates to say their I do's.
We had the honor of working with some very patient clients this year. They really had no choice. None of us did. We had to roll with our state CDC Safe Distancing Guidelines and that meant getting creative.
Getting creative is " what we do " and we welcomed the challenge of making each of our clients wedding day even more special than they imagined.
I think the top image of this post says it best for the 2020 wedding season.
WE DID IT!
Watch out, 2021... We're coming for you in BIG WAY!
Stay tuned for our NEW Floral Studio progress in our Insta stories!
Every girl dreams of what her wedding day will be like once she's found " the one ". She imagines what the weather will be like and being surrounded by everyone she holds dear as she pledges her love to her one and only. The bride to be in our story is from a small town near Cape Cod who longs for sun and fun on the far away shores of the Amalfi Coast.
Casting away the classic blue and white colors of her Cape Cod home, she dives into a lively floral pallet that mimics the color-washed villas in her beloved Italy. Dusty pink zinnias and pale peach lisianthus with bold shades of deep, coral pink dahlias, touches of sage green olive branches and wildflowers express the wildly romantic floral vibe she's dreaming of.
She'll wear her hair down in a side braid adorned in small flowers as if she's a part of the landscape herself.
A charcuterie board decorated with an array of the freshest meats, cheeses, fruits, and nuts the village has to offer with local homemade breads and crackers and most colorful tea sandwiches will keep the conversation light and fun. And for the newly married couple, a sweetheart table for two with a small cake to share, rosemary shortbread cookies with fig jam and chocolate covered strawberries with shimmering gold leaf details. A reflection of their newly pledged commitment to one another.
She's dreamed every detail, including the start of what she knows will be the dreamiest of honeymoons.
A long vintage satin gown to slip into after a fulfilling day of celebrating with family and friends awaits. Romance is surely in the air for this Cape Cod girl.
There's no turning back now.

Outside weddings can be A LOT of work for the engaged couple and extended family members but they are so worth it come the big day. One of my favorite venues is Bourne Farm on Cape Cod. An antique barn sited on a historical farm and bird sanctuary makes the perfect backdrop for nature lovers and couples who want a more relaxed feeling to their wedding day. I was so excited to be a part of Bre and Joe's early June wedding nuptials. They wanted lots of color, and big blowsy peonies ( the brides favorite) and that's what they got! Getting married in June? Think peonies! They're in season and readily available in many colors.
I love helping couples include meaningful personal touches into their wedding flowers.
The centerpieces were created with the families cherished milk glass collection. Each table had a different combination of vases and flowers giving the overall feeling a very organic vibe.
The inside of the barn is a blank slate ready for your vision! This couple chose to have the bar inside rather than out.
This couple chose to say, I do, under the big oak tree on the path near the stone walls. We marked the entrance to the ceremony site with wooden crates, rustic lanterns and swags of beautiful greens with a touch of blush flowers and ribbon.
This couple and their family and friends, the venue and the flowers all added up to a fairy tale wedding to remember forever.
Where a couple chooses to say their I do's is very personal. Whether it's a high-rise in a big city or an intimate backyard ceremony. There's a lot to be said for a bring the house down sort of affair, and the same can be said about smaller, intimate settings with fewer guests. It's important to follow your heart when planning your wedding which was just the case in this Cape Cod vintage-inspired backyard wedding.
These high school sweethearts put their personal touch on every aspect of their ceremony and decor elements, from the handmade touches to locally grown flowers from Dandelion House.
Seven guest tables under a big white tent (overlooking the ocean) were adorned with vintage silver plated serving trays topped with a photo of the couple from the year that correlated with the table#.
They opted for in season local flowers because they loved the idea of having their wedding flowers grown especially for their day. Dahlias were a feature flower in this wedding. They come into their own in late August and keep blooming until frost. They are a perfect late summer- fall wedding flower. ( pictured above, Cafe Au Lait Dahlia) She's a popular choice for blush color pallets, such as dusty blue, burgundy, gray and white and navy.
Smaller weddings often call for smaller wedding parties too, which can help to minimize stress during the planning stages.
Sometimes, just having the love of your life and those both of you hold most dear is the right formula for your perfect wedding. And flowers from Dandelion House, of course.
Oh, how I love the romance of an evening wedding in early December. The holiday craze hasn't begun to set in yet and the weather usually cooperates. Plus there's just something about the flickering of candle light that adds that extra bit of magic and sparkle to an already magical day. Add the perfect venue, with a couple in love and you've got the perfect recipe for a spectacular wedding.
This sweet couple chose the luxury wedding resort, The Red Lion Inn in Cohasset, MA. The Inn is perfect for the couple who want a location that can house the wedding party and out of town guests. The Barn offers a sense of rustic elegance and works great for the ceremony and reception.
I love how they chose floral choices to compliment their wedding invitation. They went with simple greenery and baby's breath for centerpieces, cake and the sweetheart table.
The bride wanted her bouquet pallet to include shades of deep burgundy, ivory and blush with greenery. All of the additional pieces followed suit and contrasted beautifully with the brides beautiful beaded gown and the grooms classic black tux.
My favorite line of the day was when the bride said to me, " my bouquet matches my nail color and my lipstick!" " You Nailed it!" Music to a floral designers ears!
If the bridal bouquet still looks beautiful turned upside down, you've done your job well.
A beautiful and successful wedding is made up of dreams and ideas that come to life through the engaged couples vision, the venues and vendors that work hard to bring all the parts together on the big day. Seeing everyone looking beautiful and happy is my greatest reward and why I love growing and playing with flowers.
Thank you, Shannon Grant for making my work look so beautiful.
Fall is one of my favorite seasons for weddings. In the fall we say goodbye to summer breezes in exchange for cozier vibes which are perfect for saying I do in unique ways and places. Flowers for fall and winter weddings takes on a different feeling too. Burgundy weddings ( in combination with blush, gold, ivory, peach, sage green and silver) were a popular choice for brides last season and they're here to stay in 2018!
Here are a few samples of some of the fun fall pieces I created for a sweet couple who got hitched at Bournedale Function Facility in Plymouth, MA. November, 2017.
The flowers for this festive fall wedding were a mix of several varieties of my home grown heirloom chrysanthemums, burgundy dahlias, smoke bush, dusty miller and fern. I loved the deep, rich fall feeling of these bouquets! You might notice that the coloring in the flowers differs between the wedding images and the flower photo above. The flowers photo has NO filter and shows the actual colors of the flowers.
And, did you know that the Chrysanthemum is November's flower? ) How cool is that?
Planning a Fall wedding for 2018? I'd love to hear from you!
Hi and welcome to Dandelion House Floral Design. I'm Debbie, but you can call me, Deb. As long as I can remember I've loved flowers and no matter what, I've always had a garden. In 2012 I turned a large portion of my backyard into a boutique cut flower farm and here I am! My love for gardening and growing beautiful cut flowers is at the root of my passion for creating designs with a fresh-picked feel. My signature garden-style designs attract couples who want a relaxed, yet elegant feeling on their wedding day. After all, weddings are supposed to be beautiful AND FUN!
Speaking of fun! Here are some fun facts about me:
I've been married 27 years to my favorite guy which means you get some of that happily ever after in your flowers too! We have two grown " kids" and a corgi who insists on helping me with everything. I've never been to England but it's on my bucket list. I love life and I love to laugh. I chill- out at the beach for down time and in the winter I write, plan my gardens and cook comfort food. It's a good life! Thanks for stopping by.
I look forward to creating something beautiful for you!
